About
A bookshop run by someone who actually reads.
Novel Concept Books is a one-person used bookshop built on the belief that great books shouldn't cost a fortune — and that every book deserves a reader who'll love it.
How it started
It started the way most good things do — with too many books and not enough shelf space. I'd been collecting used books for years, haunting thrift stores and estate sales, and at some point the stacks got out of hand.
Rather than let them gather dust, I started selling the ones I'd already read — carefully, honestly, at prices that felt fair. Word spread. People came back. And what started as a way to fund my own reading habit turned into something I actually care about.
Every book in the shop has been read or at least held and considered. Nothing goes out the door without an honest condition grade and a genuine sense that someone out there will want it.
What we stand for
The way we do things
Honest grading
Good means good. Very Good means very good. I grade every book the way I'd want it graded if I were the one buying.
Fair prices
Used books should be affordable. The goal is to get great books into the hands of people who'll read them — not to squeeze every dollar out of a paperback.
Curated, not bulk
This isn't a warehouse. Every title is chosen. If it's in the shop, it's because I think it's worth reading.
Community first
The Indie Showcase and The Coffeeshop exist because books don't live in a vacuum. They're part of a bigger creative world — and so is this shop.
